HONDA TO LAUNCH NEW CIVIC AT FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW
Honda has been trying hard to keep the feeling of eagerness in the consumers and to do that they are coming up with various programs and short films that do reveal some information about the new Honda Civic but they intelligently hide some information that they would only like to reveal when the car is launched at IAA in Frankfurt. So far it has been revealed that the new Honda Civic is basically designed for European markets and it will be an exclusive five door hatchback which will compete in C segment. Honda – cutting edge on hybrid technology

Hybrid technology is all the rage these days – amongst virtually all the major car manufacturers.

Each major car maker has its own claims to fame from its history, but perhaps the major manufacturer that deserves the most credit when it comes to being responsible for the development of the hybrid concept is Honda.

That’s because the manufacturer has been developing its technology in this direction for almost three decades now – and truly pioneered hybrid technology. Recently, the company introduced its fourth hybrid car – the all-new Honda Insight.

In fact, the first Honda Insight became on of the world’s first commercially available hybrid vehicles back in 1999.

A Honda hybrid uses two different sources of power working tin unison to drive the vehicle; a small, fuel-efficient petrol engine – and an electric motor. The battery that powers the electric motor is continually recharged as the car moves along, specifically; charging each time the car brakes or slows down.

So with help from the electric motor, the petrol engine doesn’t need to work anything like as hard, and nor does your wallet. This is because the hybrid car’s fuel economy is excellent, and the hybrid reduces harmful CO2 emissions. The cars also decrease emissions of nitrous oxide (NOx) and particulates that adversely affect the quality of the air we all breathe.

In 2009, Honda introduced its second-generation Insight based on an all-new, five passenger, five-door, hybrid platform – which the company also later used for the Honda CR-Z.

The insight’s design, its affordability and, of course, its amazing fuel efficiency combine to make it Honda’s best family car for the modern, “green” family.

The Honda Insight

Deciding which is the best family car can be something of a balancing act between conflicting opinions, different factors and, well, something of a nightmare for those of us who don’t want to spend our days poring over statistics in magazines, or online reviews.

At the same time, we all want to make a smart choice to keep our families safe and transported in comfort. And an ever-increasing number of us are simultaneously concerned about protecting the environment.

One excellent potential choice for families trying to balance the best of all worlds is undoubtedly the new Honda Insight.

Honda has always had an enviable reputation for reliability – and with the Insight, Honda lovers can also enjoy a warm feeling of being environmentally friendly. Why? Because the Insight is also a hybrid.

The car was designed to make hybrid technology more affordable to a wide range of family buyers. The new Insight, introduced in 2010, was a complete change from its predecessor’s two-seater configuration. The 2010 version is a five passenger, five door hybrid vehicle that includes the fifth generation of Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid powertrain. The Insight’s wedge-shaped body is specifically designed to assist aerodynamics – so reducing drag to maximise fuel economy.

Perhaps most importantly for many families, the Insight is also one of the most affordable of family hybrids available – both on purchase price and running costs.

In fact, the official UK fuel efficiency data for the Honda Insight is a very respectable 61.4 mpg on the urban cycle, rising to 67.3 mpg in the extra urban cycle whilst the CO2 emissions rating is an impressive 101g/km.

In short, the Honda Insight offers a little of everything for the environmentally concerned family.

Auto market and Japan

As you know pretty well till now Japan has been second largest automobile market in the world. An automotive and electronic industries are the most prominent industries, the base of the Japanese economy. Such autos as Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi and Mazda have recommended themselves in the world as quality and trustworthy ones.

But now, in the light of Japan’s tragedy that is unfortunately still continuing it’s becoming also obviously that the earthquake has affected on all exports, including cars and probably customers will get the deficit of automotives and electronic components very soon. Japan’s top three auto makers, Toyota, Honda and Nissan, have closed already their plants in the quake-hit areas in Japan.

It’s pity becouse I’ve loved Nissan Micra which is both beautiful as economic auto. Nissan Micra comes in a single engine variant – 1.2 litre petrol with 3 in-line cylinders. The powerful engine can churn out a maximum power of 75 bhp @ 6000 RPM and will give you a maximum torque of 104 Nm @ 4000 RPM. Paired with the engine is a five speed manual transmission.

Micra boasts of optimum performance, ride and handling combined with agility and refinement.Mounted on the Nissan’s new signature V-platform, the suspension minimizes intrusion and takes on well to US or European roads. The suspension set up comprises of McPherson Strut at the front and torsion beam at the rear. The cute looking hatchback also offers a great fuel economy of 18.06 kmpl.

However, we have to hope and many analysts believe that the impact of Japan’s quake would not last long on the global market. A Moody’s economist even thinks that Japan’s reconstruction efforts after the earthquake could boost global trade.

It has been shared already a picture and official information of this really stylish, conceptual and surprising versatility so you can find it easily. Here is some facts about 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour

“TORRANCE, Calif., Sept. 1, 2009 – The all-new 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour evolves the Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) concept by integrating a sleek and aerodynamic shape that blends sporty, low-profile contours with versatile CUV functionality, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today.
“Our concept is to broaden the appeal of the Accord line-up by leveraging traditional Accord strengths of fun-to-drive performance and handling while also adapting to dramatic shifts in the light truck marketplace,” said Erik Berkman, vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “The Accord Crosstour accomplishes that by offering a modern interpretation of a CUV while integrating the refinement and efficiency of a premium sedan.”

Derived from the Accord Sedan, the Accord Crosstour maximizes car-like ride and refinement, yet maintains capabilities consistent with a CUV’s increased ride height and all-weather potential. The Accord Crosstour’s styling builds on the Accord’s familiar character lines and adds a bolder front grille complemented by a durable lower-body appearance, wedge-shaped C-pillars and an aggressive rear stance. The flowing roofline narrows smoothly into the rear of the vehicle to create an aggressive-looking design, which conceals a unique cargo area that can adapt to large objects that exceed the capacity of a sedan.

“We know SUV buyers like the commanding view of the road that comes with a high eye-point and like the comforts of living with an SUV,” said Berkman. “This vehicle meets the needs of buyers looking for those attributes yet at the same time want an image that is different from a conventional SUV.”

The Accord Crosstour will be positioned at the top of the Accord family when it goes on sale in fall 2009. Additional details will be announced later in the year. Consumer information is available at automobiles.honda.com/future-cars. An Accord Crosstour Facebook page is available at www.facebook.com/accordcrosstour.
